Vision and Values
Our New Logo!
The children, staff, Governors and parents of Comberton have shared their fantastic ideas to contribute to the design of our new school logo and slogan. The school council have been instrumental in shortlisting ideas and liaising with a professional designer to reach the final design.
We are very proud of the finished logo and think it reflects our Comberton Community perfectly! We really are "a caring community for all to shine".
Please bear with us whilst we slowly alter all of our documents and website design to reflect our new logo.
Vision and Values
Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.
Our school vision and overall intent:
Our role at Comberton is to spark curiosity, creating a world of opportunity, awe and wonder for our children and staff. We aim to equip our children with the knowledge, skills and values to lead productive, healthy and inspired lives in modern day Britain
Our school values are:
Our core values, supported by the British Values of: democracy; the rule of law; individual liberty; and the mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs, are: |
|
Respect |
for all members of the school community; for the beliefs and ideas of others and the environment we create. |
Responsibility |
for our own actions, our own learning, and our pursuit of excellence. |
Tolerance |
celebrating and understanding differences, and learning from each other. |
Collaboration |
working together with different people for a common goal. |
Perseverance |
never, ever giving up. To be the best we can be. |
Determination |
to do the right thing and wanting to succeed. |
Our school council used our school values to create playground values so that playtimes are enjoyable for all.
Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Development at Comberton
SMSC stands for Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development and is at the heart of what we do at Comberton Primary School. We are concerned with developing the whole child, not just giving them the academic and practical skills, but also equipping them with important life skills such as: self-knowledge, moral courage, cultural capital and a capacity for imaginative sympathy for others so that they are fully prepared to be able to live meaningful lives in modern day Britain.
SMSC is evident across the curriculum in lessons, but we also plan in stand alone activities to promote these skills.
