Ofsted Report - January 2020

Comberton Primary School continues to be a good school!

Our most recent Ofsted inspection was completed in January 2020 and the inspection recognised:

• Pupils thrive at this happy school. They are safe and well cared for. They develop positive attitudes to learning and behave well. Pupils work and play together happily and treat adults and each other with respect.
• Staff have high expectations of pupils and want the best for them , and this pays off. Parents and carers are full of praise for the school. Typical comments include, "I have the utmost respect for the work Mr Freear and his team are doing at this school."
• Pupils enjoy all aspects of school life including the wide range of clubs, trips and events on offer. For example, pupils perform on stage at the local theatre, compete in sports tournaments and raise money for charity. 
• Leaders ensure that pupils achieve well pupils - attainment in reading, writing and mathematics is above the national average at the end of key stages 1 and 2.
• Staff in the early years have created a safe and exciting learning environment. They involve parents in school life from the outset.
• Pupils’ personal development is a strength. Pupils develop good citizenship skills, and older pupils readily take on additional responsibilities, such as being digital leaders, sports crew and eco warriors.
• Parents are positive about how the school develops their children, both socially and academically.
• The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. Pupil safety is of paramount importance to all adults and is taken very seriously.
