Year 6
Welcome to Year 6
The Year 6 teachers are Miss Poyner and Miss Jeavons. They are supported by Miss Taylor, Mrs Bell, Mr Tierney, Mrs Whyley and Mr Price.
We are based upstairs in the new building. In the mornings, Year 6 children enter through the door by the office and place their items (lunch box, coat and drawstring bag) in their locker.
PE is on a Friday and you will need to come to school in your kit on that day.
Your homework will be to complete 2 pages a week in your CGP maths workbook. You will be told the pages to complete by your maths teacher. You also need to read at least 3 times a week and signed by an adult. On Friday mornings we will check that you have completed your maths workbook pages, and we will check that your reading journal has been signed 3 times by an adult. TTR is also a resource you have access to and practising your times table facts will be beneficial throughout the year.
In Year 6, there will be opportunities for you to watch films, for example Goodnight Mister Tom, which have a PG certificate so just let your parents know. If they have any questions or concerns, they can email us.
We expect you to work hard and behave well. We try to plan interesting lessons and opportunities for your last year with us so you need to attend well, try your best and always be respectful to others.
